Perfect Pups* concentrates on socialisation and the essential aspects of bringing up a well-balanced, happy and confident pup. Learn effective ways to calmly and happily teach your puppy about the world and how they can fit into it. |

Topics covered include the Critical Period for socialisation and habituation to the world, toilet-training, chewing, play-biting, getting started with lead-walking, coming when called, especially recall away from other dogs, handling, grooming, and so much more!
The first session is without the pups*, so that everyone has chance to listen and learn, without a puppy to concentrate on! You will also have the chance to ask questions, and watch some demonstrations of early obedience and other puppy skills.
In the following sessions, each week will include practice of essential obedience skills, a puppy socialisation exercise, and a wind down at the end of the lesson. In weeks two and three, the pups meet the other people on the course, with dress-up in the third week - great fun, and a much needed element. Week four is a really active week exploring different objects. Week five is an introduction to desensitising your to sounds. Finally, week 6 is supervised 'off-lead' play with adult dogs.

*Perfect Pups is for pups 18 weeks or under at the start date of the course, and who have been given the all-clear to go out by your vet.
