What a fun-filled day!!

Dogs a-plenty and with the weather holding out, the annual Thornberry Animal Sanctuary fun-day was a busy day with LOTS of competition rounds to get through. Classes included Best 6 Legs, Best Rescue, Dog most like Owner, Fancy Dress, as well as the popular Most Handsome Dog and Prettiest Bitch. Of course, the infamous and hilarious Sausage Race finished the day's proceedings off!

Boney Fido were honoured to be asked to kick the day off by judging the Prettiest Bitch and then, at the end of the day, Best in Show (!). Picking just one winning dog in each round was VERY tough, with some many wonderful dogs to choose from. We love dogs because they all have their own individual spark and charming qualities, from the scrappiest mutt, to the shiniest pedigree.

At lunchtime and mid-afternoon, Dave, Liz and Freddy provided entertainment for the crowds with two different displays of skills. The first was a demonstration of fun agility that you could do in your back garden or house, followed by a Gun Dog demo and finishing off with an improvised Canine Freestyle routine. The Freestyle was so popular that Freddy was asked to repeat it in the afternoon slot. Poor old Fred was absoluteley knackered by this point, especially as he'd just been showing off a barrage of tricks! We think it's time for a second dog just to give Freddy a break!!

We had a fantastic day, and met some many of our customers and their dogs. We can't wait to come back and do it again next year.
